The I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! finalist has a 50/50 chance of being crowned Queen of the Jungle tonight (December 1), but according to a source Roberts won't be celebrating her achievement with two members of her family.
The Pussycat Doll's father Pat Roberts, who is the former drummer of '60s supergroup The Mamas and the Papas, has suffered from severe financial problems and declared bankruptcy in 2005.
A family friend told The Mirror: "It's terribly sad. Pat used to be so close to Ashley but in recent years their relationship has become strained."
The 65-year-old's car company was said to have not met Arizona's strict Corporation Commission rules, and Roberts was accused of defrauding investors, meaning he had to pay roughly £190,000 ($304,285) in compensation.
The source revealed: "Ashley used to idolise her dad and started singing and dancing as a tiny child to make him happy.
"She really was the apple of his eye and he fully supported her decision to move to Hollywood immediately after she left school to try for a showbiz career.
"No-one was prouder than Pat when she became a burlesque dancer even though her routines were very risqué.
"But Pat lived through the crazy, sex and drug-fuelled '60s and little shocks him. Ashley became an overnight sensation, within six months she was part of the Pussycat Dolls."
Roberts has also distanced herself from her younger brother Jayce Roberts, according to a friend.
The 26-year-old has been arrested dozens of times in Phoenix, Arizona, Los Angeles and Las Vegas for a variety of offences, including indecent exposure, assault, theft, drug possession, trespassing and intimidating a witness.
The friend told the newspaper: "The family is at a loss about Jayce. He's a nice enough kid but he really has gone off the rails.

"He keeps on getting arrested and his criminal record isn't pretty.
"Ashley has distanced herself from everything. I suppose she is being careful and looking out for her career.
"We haven't seen anything of her in a while. She's close to her mum but that's about it."
Roberts will battle it out with Charlie Brooks to be crowned the winner of I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! tonight on ITV at 9.30pm.
