Roxanne Pallett in training for 'Ice'

Emmerdale star Roxanne Pallett and EastEnders actor Joe Swash have started training for the next series of Dancing on Ice.

Roxanne, who is leaving her role as Jo Sugden on the Yorkshire-based soap, and Joe, better known as Walford's Mickey Miller, will compete to be the new skating champ when the ITV1 series returns next year.

Hollyoaks star Jennifer Metcalf (Mercedes McQueen) is also expected to star on the show, as are the soap's former actors Jeremy Edwards (Danny Shaughnessy) and Ben Hull (Lewis Richardson). They will be joined by axed Coronation Street star Matthew Crompton, who plays Dan Mason.

The soap actors will face competition from model Caprice, G4's Jonathan Ansell and Crimewatch presenter Rav Wilding, according to The Sun.

An insider told the newspaper: "The next Dancing On Ice really is going to be a feast for the eyes. The whole line-up is full of the sexiest stars of the small screen."
