The former Great Britain player, 47, is the sixth contestant to be voted off the show. His performance to Dexy's Midnight Runners' 'Come On Eileen' only scored 15.5 from the judges.
After the public vote, Hanley ended up in the skate-off with Melinda Messenger and was chosen for the axe by the panel.
"It's been really joyful to work with Jane [Torvill] and Chris [Dean], they’re lovely people," said Hanley. "I also have to thank Frankie, who’ll be my friend forever."
Ray Quinn finished on top of the judges' leaderboard again, scoring perfect marks for his dance to '80s pop hit 'Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now'. The former X Factor star is the bookmakers' firm favourite to win the series.
