MacIntyre casts doubt on 'Ice' chances
Dancing On Ice star Donal MacIntyre has insisted that he has no chance of winning the show.

The investigative journalist has claimed that he is unable to compete with his rival contestants Ray Quinn, Jessica Taylor and Zoe Salmon, who are more popular with the programme's judges.

Speaking to The Mirror, he explained: "I'm no more than a middle runner. Ray, Jessica Taylor and Zoe Salmon are a long way ahead."

Despite his doubts, MacIntyre added that he is amazed by the progress he has made since the first live show in January.

"It was a dead heat between who was worse - me or Todd [Carty]," he explained. "My only hope was that I survived the first week.

"It does consume your life though. At first I thought, 'Oh, it can't be that hard. We'll be pampered!' Well, trust me, there's no pampering. It's a workhorse training camp, back to basics, no nonsense.

"And you've got Christopher Dean and Jayne Torvill helping. It must be the equivalent of Michael Phelps teaching your grandma how to doggy paddle."

Dancing On Ice continues at 7.10pm tomorrow on ITV1.
