Nolan, Gardiner argue about 'Ice'

Coleen Nolan and Jason Gardiner have argued about the judge's criticisms on this year's Dancing On Ice.

Nolan exited the ice skating show yesterday after only scoring 16.5 points for a routine that Gardiner described as "boring".

Nolan said that the panel should take into account how much of a challenge the skating is for each person, arguing that Ray Quinn had not improved much since the first episode. She also attacked Gardiner for not always giving "constructive" criticism with his comments.

"It's a difficult balance for us judges to meet in ten seconds," responded Gardiner on This Morning. "It was your performance. I did say it was your most boring performance. For any injury, if you step out on to that ice I can't take that into account...everyone else is working just as hard."

Arguing with the judge, Coleen said: "No they didn't work as hard as me last week! Can't you judge it on how much of a challenge it is for that person?

"I adore Ray [Quinn] and love watching him on the ice but the routine he did last night he could have done that in January....He has been that good since day one."

Gardiner disagreed with the Loose Women presenter, claiming that Quinn was still improving every week.

Both Nolan and Gardiner tipped Quinn to win the series finale, which takes place on Sunday at 6.55pm on ITV1.
