MacIntyre admits to 'Ice' "man crush"

Donal MacIntyre has admitted that he has a "man crush" on fellow celebrity skater Ellery Hanley.

MacIntyre revealed that the only time he got annoyed with the judges on the show was when Jason Gardiner labelled Hanley a "potato head".

He told DS: "I think he got his language wrong. That was accidentally too close to the mark. If he had the choice, I don't think he'd say that again. Ellery was bruised by that and I think he was flustered in the skate-off.

"I think Ellery went a week or two too early. He was the one contestant I had a man crush on. He's a giant man and a legend. He was a gentleman throughout. When Jason upset him, it upset me."

However, MacIntyre claimed that he wasn't personally upset by remarks from Gardiner, confessing that he agreed with most of the criticism.

"When he said I had arms like a gibbon's the other day, I actually thought he was right," said the 42-year-old. "I've always through aesthetically my arms are too big for my body.

"Give Jason credit, he does believe every word he says and he is consistent. It's refreshing in the world of TV to have someone consistent on and off camera."
