The former Liberty X star was eliminated at the penultimate hurdle, finishing third in the show behind Donal MacIntyre and eventual winner Ray Quinn.
Taylor told The Sun: "I really wanted to do Bolero. We'd had to choreograph it ourselves and had been working on it all week to get it perfect.
"It was heartbreaking to be stood in our outfits ready to go after preparing a routine we loved."
She added: "I'm not a defeatist person - no matter how much he was the favourite, I wasn't about to roll over and say: 'Ray's won it.'
"When the two of them were stood there waiting to hear who had won I had my doubts and thought maybe Donal would snatch it from Ray. But I was pleased Ray got it."
