Young, who skated topless to the 'Rocky Theme' on Sunday, finished second on the judges scoreboard, totalling 22.5 points.
Speaking about the performance, Graham told DS: "The whole package was brilliant. The song represents the underdog rising up and coming to the top of his game. That song and routine suited his personality and position in the competition perfectly.
"He wouldn't have been seen as one of the favourites a few weeks ago, but he has worked harder, harder and harder. He got negative comments early in the competition, struggled on 17 points for several weeks and then [on Sunday night] - everything about the routine was pure Danny.
"It was a real Rocky Balboa performance."
Graham laughed off suggestions that he should have taken his shirt off to compete with Young, admitting: "I don't think I'd have been doing myself any favours after Danny did it. He works hard to get in that physical shape. I think all the women loved it and I'm sure his ratings with the women went sky high last night, for sure."
