As part of this Sunday's final, which will also feature the final two celebrities skating their own Boleros, Torvill and Dean will recreate their 1984 Winter Olympic skate with a new 'flying' twist.
According to The Sun, the duo will be balanced above the ice, without safety harnesses, with only blue silk scarves holding them aloft.
"This routine is really dangerous. One slip and they'll splat on the ice," said a source. "But Jayne and Chris and ITV are confident they'll nail it."
Torvill, 52, said: "It's like nothing we've done before."
The Dancing On Ice final airs on Sunday at 7.45pm on ITV1.
