The soap actress, who won the 2010 series crown last night, claimed that the fact she had known her professional skating partner since she was a child meant that there were no boundaries between them on the ice.
"It was the first time that on a show like this they have put together two people who are actually friends. It could have gone horribly wrong," Tamaddon told This Morning.
"Fortunately, it actually brought us closer together. Dan has been tougher on me for all the right reasons and because we were friends we had the no boundary thing. If I was doing something wrong, he could say, 'You are doing it wrong'. It really, really helped me."
Speaking about her celebrations last night, the 33-year-old said: "I'd been saving a really expensive bottle of champagne, which I have had for two years, just for a moment like this. I said to Dan before the show, 'If we win, I'm going to open it'. He asked if we would still open it if we lost, and I said, 'No!'"
Whiston joked: "It was a bottle of Lambrusco. The very best."
