The children's TV presenter will compete to win the series on Sunday night against Sam Attwater and Chloe Madeley.
Speaking to The Mirror, Hamilton confessed that she feared an early exit due to being unknown to a majority of the ITV1 show's audience.
"Of course I was worried the fact not many people knew me could go against me," she told the paper. "I always knew from week one when it was completely down to the public vote that we'd struggle to make it through.
She added: "You don't know how the public have taken to you - that's why we didn't expect to get this far."
Hamilton and her partner Colin Ratushniak have topped the judges' leaderboard, yet also faced the public vote on two occasions throughout the series.
The presenter has expressed interest in replacing Konnie Huq on ITV2's The Xtra Factor.
