'Dancing on Ice' Pamela Anderson: 'I couldn't stand up on the ice'

Pamela Anderson has said that she could not stand up on the ice when she tried skating in October.

The former Baywatch star is one of the contestants on this year's Dancing on Ice despite her lack of skating experience.

"When I was five I skated a little bit, but it didn't work out so well so I have to redeem myself," Anderson told ITV1's This Morning.

"As a Canadian I have to learn how to skate... hopefully I've improved - I couldn't stand up in October, so it's gotten better!"

She confirmed that she had not practised during her Christmas holidays, explaining: "I was in Hawaii, I couldn't find a rink!"

Fellow competitor Anthea Turner quipped: "And I was in Hawaii with Pamela!"

When double-jointed Olympic gymnast Beth Tweddle said that she could put her leg behind her head, Anderson added: "So can I!"

Tweddle said: "It's completely different, everything that I've been taught for the past 20 years - straight legs, keep your body upright.

"Suddenly my coach is telling me to bend your knees and my panic mode is to go straight leg and then I'm flat on my back on the ice."

Dancing on Ice launches on Sunday (January 6) on ITV1. Watch a trailer for the show below:
