The presenter failed to impress the judges in the first show of the series last night, finishing in the bottom two with singer Samantha Mumba.
She was accused of remaining "within her comfort zone" after making her debut on the ice with partner Fred Palascak.
The judging panel - which now includes West End star Ruthie Henshall - chose to save Mumba, who said she was relieved to have been able to skate after being struck down with a flu-like illness last week.
Greene, 49, said: "I've loved all of it - and this is a fantastic hobby to have. I'm going to continue. It's been such a fantastic experience and a fantastic sport.
"I just can't wait to get back to all my friends at Slough ice rink. Everyone should take it up."
Hollyoaks star Chris Fountain and singer Suzanne Shaw finished at the top of the leader board, while Aggie MacKenzie trailed in last place.
Fountain is the early 3-1 favourite to win this year’s competition, followed by Gareth Gates.
