X Factor Kye Sones interview: Chimney sweep defends music past - video

Move over Dick Van Dyke, there's another singing chimney sweep in town. Kye Sones took The X Factor by storm at the weekend and it looks like he'll be leaving the ash and soot behind to tackle the world of pop thanks to his Rita Ora/Swedish House Mafia mash-up audition.

Kye, who has been in electronic outfits and boybands earlier in his career, is hoping for one last punt at fame on the ITV1 talent show.

Digital Spy caught up with the 30-year-old to talk about controversies surrounding his musical past ("I've been in bands and some of them have got to a certain stage, but they flopped") and the potential problems of cheesy theme weeks ("it's an exciting challenge").
