Gabriella and Monica Irimia found fame on 2002's Popstars: The Rivals along with Cole and Girls Aloud.
"There are people older than that who go to auditions and have to be judged by someone who has so little experience," Monica said of Cole's new role. "Especially in judging and managing acts.
"I have nothing against Cheryl Cole at all, she is in an amazing band and is a great performer, but it doesn’t seem right for her to be a judge."
Monica went on to recommend her mother, who manages The Cheeky Girls, for the job. "She would be perfect because she can be very open and say what she means without hurting you," she said.
Gabriela added: "I’d rather have someone like her who has managed people, is older and has experience."
