The X Factor finalist is currently performing in the West End production in the role of Doody.
Speaking about the career move, Quinn told The Sun: "It's a dream come true. I've wanted to perform on stage since I was three years old - and it is my main priority.
"I'm here for five months but hopefully it will be longer. It's different to anything else I've ever done before."
He added: "I get such a huge buzz from performing live. Because I'm in character there are no limits to what I can do."
Quinn also argued that Leona Lewis had "raised the bar" for reality TV singers after winning X Factor in 2006.
He commented: "She's not just an X Factor winner but an outstanding artist with worldwide appeal."
