"My family and Leona Lewis's family are very close. Leona and I went to a youth club together and my family and her family grew up together. So when I saw Leona win the show I thought I want a piece of that," 23-year-old Duane Lamonte told the show's judges.
Lamonte sings the Stevie Wonder song 'Lately' in tomorrow's episode and impresses the panel with his performance.
Simon Cowell tells him that "the competition needs someone like you", while Louis Walsh comments that Lamonte has "really good potential".
The X Factor airs on Saturday at 7.30pm on ITV1.
