Cowell grills Turner over 'sob story'

Simon Cowell takes Alan Turner to one side on this week's X Factor to find out the truth about claims that he faked his backstory when he first appeared on the show.

The 23-year-old's father recently accused him of fabricating his upbringing on the programme.

Turner said he was fostered and entered the competition to prove himself to his real parents, but his dad Alan Turner Snr. later refuted the claims.

Cowell attempts to get the truth out of Turner on this week's show, but the singer swears that his version of events is accurate.

"It was the hardest and most upsetting week of my life following my appearance on the show. I do not understand why my Dad did it. I'm going to fight back and not let him beat me. I thought he was going to call me up and say how proud he was after seeing me on the show, but he didn't, he went to the papers," he says.

The X Factor airs at 7.45pm tomorrow on ITV1.
