Girls Aloud to appear on 'X Factor'
Published Sunday, Oct 12 2008, 19:02 BST | By Michael Thornton

ITV bosses are reportedly hoping that the group's appearance will be enough to secure higher viewing figures than BBC rival Strictly Come Dancing.
Girls Aloud, who originally found fame on reality show Popstars: The Rivals in 2002, will be singing new release 'The Promise'.
Meanwhile, the 11 remaining hopefuls will compete to impress the public and judges with their second live performance.
Girl group Bad Lashes was eliminated from the competition last night.
