Girlband defend Walsh against Cowell attack
Girlband have defended their X Factor mentor Louis Walsh after he was criticised by Simon Cowell.

After the all-female group performed on Saturday's live show, Cowell claimed there was "no connection" between Walsh and his act.

Girlband were later eliminated from the ITV1 singing contest, but group member Tita Lau denied reports that Walsh had been a negligent mentor.

"We absolutely love Louis," she told DS. "He spent lots of time with us in rehearsals telling us what we needed to improve on, and he always called and texted us during the week to find out how we were."

Lau also dismissed suggestions that Walsh lacks the skills to manage a successful girl group. "You know, he did really well with Girls Aloud when he was managing them. I think we had the best mentor for the band and I wouldn't have wanted it any other way," she said.
