The former Bluecoat, who was voted off on Saturday night, is currently banned from releasing music until February. His deal with the programme also confirms his involvement in the X Factor stadium tour early next year.
According to The Mirror, Bruton told friends: "I'm stuck in my contract with X Factor until February. I'm getting a solicitor to look and see if they can get me out of it. I know I still have what it takes to become a star and I don't see why I should have to wait."
A show insider insisted: "Being on the tour is his best chance of making a name for himself. He was never going to win The X Factor and he needs a reality check."
Bruton recently admitted that he felt "let down" by his mentor Simon Cowell when the music mogul made a poor song choice for his first live performance.
