X Factor finalist Laura White posted original material on a website for unsigned talent before entering the ITV1 competition, it has emerged.

White uploaded two of her own songs, 'For The Love Of It All' and 'Sunshine', on to website Amazing Tunes before auditioning for the show.

The songs can be purchased for 79p, with White netting 70% of the profit. Both tracks have become bestselling songs on the site.

On her profile, the singer describes her sound as "soul/jazz/blues", saying: "I have been singing professionally from the age of 15, music is my life." She lists her influences as Eva Cassidy, Lauryn Hill and Amy Winehouse.

White's elimination from The X Factor last Saturday sparked controversy and was mentioned in Parliament by Culture Secretary Andy Burnham.
