Walsh opted to keep Ruth Lorenzo in the competition when he could have taken the decision to go to a deadlock, in which the singer with the most public votes is saved.
"He should not have picked out of Laura and Ruth, he should have taken it to deadlock. You should let the public decide," Dixon told Radio 1's Breakfast Show.
The singer also suggested that Walsh's verdict is part of a strategy to sabotage fellow judge Cheryl Cole's chances of winning the competition, saying: "He was just being spiteful towards Cheryl - it was tactical."
White's exit was raised in Parliament earlier this week, with Culture Secretary Andy Burnham describing the decision to send her home as "very harsh".
