Evans: 'I've had the best experience ever'

Daniel Evans has insisted that he has no regrets about taking part in The X Factor, describing the competition as his "best ever" experience.

The 38-year-old pool cleaner was eliminated from the show last night after facing off against Rachel Hylton in the final showdown.

"It's been absolutely amazing. It's just been unbelievable," Evans told Xtra Factor host Holly Willoughby. "The whole team, the whole crew have been amazing. Everyone behind the scenes. You guys have no idea what goes on behind the scenes, it's mad. I just want to say thanks for this. It's been the best experience ever."

Evans added that he would maintain a positive attitude after being praised by the judges for the way he handled his time on the show.

He said: "I've met such great people. I've done things I've never dreamed of doing in my life. How can I not smile?"

The aspiring singer has been described as "incredible" and "inspiring" by Dannii Minogue, who mentored him throughout the live shows.
