The 20-year-old Londoner is beating off competition from Eoghan Quigg and JLS to win this year's title, with odds of 8-15 to take the crown. JLS are 7-2 to win, from 9-2, while Eoghan is second favourite at 11-4.
"This year's competition looks like being the closest in the show's history," said Ladbrokes spokesman Nick Weinberg. "Alex has been favourite for the last couple of weeks but support for her and Eoghan is beginning to dry up - punters want to be with JLS."
A record £1 million is expected to be spent in the final week of the competition.
The X Factor winning song 'Hallelujah' has odds of 1-8 to be Christmas number one.
