The 20-year-old was booked to sing at a Surrey restaurant where she has appeared on December 25 for the last five years. However, Burke is no longer allowed to perform after winning the ITV1 talent show so mum Melissa stepped in at the eleventh hour.
She told the Sunday Mirror: "Alex has been singing at my friend Hector's restaurant at Carshalton in Surrey on Christmas Day for five years and was supposed to do it again. But she's not allowed to do functions now... and we couldn't let Hector down so I'm doing the show.
"Alex is going to come down and watch and have some food."
The 44-year-old, who suffered kidney failure earlier this year, was in the 1980s band Soul II Soul.
