Sinitta: 'X Factor' stars to be "pop athletes"
Published Tuesday, Apr 7 2009, 08:59 BST | By Nick Levine
Sinitta has revealed that she wants to turn this year's X Factor finalists into "pop athletes".
The former pop singer, who assists Simon Cowell on the ITV1 talent show, will work on the contestants' health and fitness to enable them to compete with global superstars like Beyoncé and Christina Aguilera.
"It's one thing to fix their hair and give them a nice dress, but they need to become pop athletes," she told DS.
"Beyoncé practises her singing while she's jogging on her running machine - that's why she can dance and perform live. I kind of want to get them to that standard now."
Sinitta, who presented a gong to George Sampson at last night's DS Reality TV Awards, also revealed that she is working on her own chatshow.
"It's kind of an Oprah or Tyra type thing," she said. "It's developed and I think we're going to shoot a pilot. This is my heart's real desire - I look a bit like Oprah, don't I?"
