The show's judge was said to be reconsidering her future with the programme following the negative press which surrounded her on the last series.
However, sources have now suggested that Minogue was simply holding out for better contract terms and has the backing of show boss Simon Cowell.
An insider told The Sun: "The chances of Dannii making a return were looking exceptionally bleak as recently as a fortnight ago. Now Simon has given the green light for her return. The lineup is going to be exactly the same as last year, despite all the speculation.
"She has had a tough run over the last couple of years and she has no intention of giving up now."
The source added: "Dannii has been playing a clever game on her contract negotiations. She has made it clear she loves the show but hasn't shown her hand publicly about her desire to return."
Minogue joined the ITV1 talent show in 2007 as part of a surprise shakeup. Cowell has since named her as the programme's most hardworking judge.
