Simon Cowell: 'We don't wreck lives'

The pop mogul has been criticised by past X Factor hopefuls, including series one winner Steve Brookstein and series four semi-finalist Niki Evans.
However, he told Heart FM that the success of Leona Lewis shows that a sustainable career is possible for stars of the programmes.
Cowell said: "What Leona has done is that she made the most out of her opportunity. Other people, it doesn't work out, they blame us for wrecking their lives.
"No, we didn't. We just said: 'Welcome on the talent show, we'll put you in front of millions of people. Good luck to you.'"
The X Factor returns to ITV1 in August.
