Daniel Pearce from the Popstars: The Rivals band won four "Yes" votes from the judges after performing Seal's 1994 hit 'Kiss From A Rose' in London, The Sun reports.
Pearce was given a standing ovation by Cheryl Cole, who told him: "I always thought you were fantastic."
One True Voice had lost out in the race for the Christmas number one to Cole's Girls Aloud in 2002 and were dropped by their record label soon after.
Fellow panellist Simon Cowell criticised Louis Walsh for "letting Daniel go", though Walsh reminded him that he had managed Girls Aloud while Pete Waterman had controlled their male Rivals competitors.
