Verity ousted from 'X Factor'

50-year-old Verity Keays has tonight become the second act eliminated from The X Factor.

The singer found herself in the bottom two with Louis Walsh's Two To Go. Both of Sharon Osbourne's acts - Tabby and Cassie - made it through, meaning that she had the casting vote.

After some deliberation and despite some pleading from Simon to give Verity "one more shot," Sharon announced her decision.

After learning that she had received the boot, a tearful but calm Verity thanked Simon for his support, adding that today had been the highlight of her experience.

Louis Walsh is now the only judge with all three acts remaining.
