She explains that she wanted to audition because she has always enjoyed singing.
"Music means a lot to me," she says. "Someone who inspires me most is Cheryl Cole because we've both come from Newcastle, both come from working backgrounds. She's a massive inspiration because she's gone from that and look at her now. She's a superstar."
However, the judges are unimpressed by Amiee's rendition of the Alicia Keys song 'Fallin'.
Simon Cowell explains: "I think you've got a good voice, but it's not a great voice. You're very well prepared, you look fantastic, but I don't think your voice is good enough darling."
When Amiee begins to cry, the judges explain that she didn't pick the right song for her voice, prompting her to admit that she was thinking of choosing a Girls Aloud track.
When Cowell tells her to sing it, she worries that she will not be able to remember the words.
However, Cole joins Amiee on stage and holds her hand as she auditions for the second time, telling her: "Well done, babe."
Amiee's audition will be shown on tomorrow's edition of The X Factor at 7.45pm on ITV1.
