'The X Factor' hits new series high

Last night's show, which saw Kandy Rain become the first act to be voted off the reality show after landing in the bottom two alongside Rachel Adedeji, pulled in an impressive 13m (46.4%) for ITV1 in the 8pm hour. ITV2's The Xtra Factor then put in 1.37m (5.6%) at 9pm.
The previous high of 12.38m (44.9%) was set by last Sunday's episode, in which the final 12 contestants were unveiled.
After The X Factor, 8.65m (33.1%) stayed with ITV1 for Doc Martin.
Over on BBC One, Antiques Roadshow interested 5.48m (19.5%) during the 8pm hour, then 3.55m (13.6%) watched Emma at 9pm.
BBC Two's live snooker coverage average 1.63m (7.4%) between 8pm and 11.30pm.
Come Dine With Me drew 1.39m (4.9%) for Channel 4 at 8pm. Kevin McCloud's Grand Tour followed at 9pm, bringing in 1.03m (3.9%).
Five's film fest kicked off with Ghostbusters II, which averaged 1.41m (5.6%) between 7pm and 9pm, then 2.05m (9.5%) watched Ghost Rider between 9pm and 11.15pm.
Overall, ITV1 dominated primetime with an average share of 31.9% to BBC One's 18.7%. Five was third with 7.2%), followed by BBC Two with 7%, and Channel 4's 4.1% (0.7%).
