Mum: 'Danyl isn't a natural singer'

Danyl Johnson's mum has revealed that her son was not born with the best voice.

Maria Burgess told The Mirror that the 27-year-old's love of singing even got him in trouble as a youngster.

She stated: "Danyl was always writing songs as a child but his voice wasn't that great. He used to sing in the garden and in his bedroom.

"The neighbours would shout over to tell him to be quiet and at one point it got so bad that one of them even wrote a letter, which was published in the local paper, to get him to shut up.

"It's bizarre when you think about it now. We've been back to visit her since and she said, 'I could cut my arm off for what I said back then'.

"Over the years Danyl's voice improved with practice and training. But he wasn't born a natural singer. He's worked at it and it's got him to where he is now."
