Cole 'invites John & Edward to dinner'

Cheryl Cole has invited X Factor duo John and Edward Grimes to have dinner with her, according to a report.

The Girls Aloud star apparently decided to make a peace offering after complaining about the controversial twins live on air earlier this month.

When her act Rikki Loney was voted off on October 18, Cole told show host Dermot O'Leary: "I can't believe John and Edward are still in the competition and Rikki's going."

However, an insider has now told the Daily Star Sunday: "Cheryl was fuming when Rikki got the axe. But when she calmed down she realised it wasn't the twins' fault. She felt guilty for slagging them off, so went to find the boys and invited them round to dinner."

John confirmed: "We love Cheryl and there's no hard feelings at all about what she said. We think she is stunning and a great singer. It is amazing that we could get such an invitation from her. She is a megastar. We want to be her friends and stay in touch long after The X Factor."

The Dublin-born brothers survived another round of the competition last night, despite facing more criticism from the judging panel. The latest results episode saw Miss Frank being eliminated from the contest.
