John & Edward visit throat specialist

The X Factor twins have reportedly been ordered to rest ahead of tonight's performance due to throat concerns.

John and Edward Grimes visited a Harley Street clinic after falling unwell earlier this week, reports The Mirror.

An insider said: "The boys have been struck down by the curse of X Factor. There are lots of sniffles around at the moment and coupled with the pressure their voices are under, it's no surprise they have got sore throats.

"They have been told to take it easy so that is what they are doing. The boys will be desperate to perform and everyone is hopeful they will be well enough to do so."

Judge Simon Cowell earlier joked that it would be a "complete disaster" if the 18-year-old Dubliners won the show. "The fact is, it's a singing competition, and they can't sing," he said.

The X Factor continues tonight at 8pm on ITV1.
