Wright: 'X Factor judges are a joke'

Ian Wright has blasted Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole for their recent behaviour on The X Factor.

The former footballer admitted that he was annoyed to see Cowell taking the judges' vote to deadlock on Sunday night, which resulted in Rachel Adedeji being eliminated over Lloyd Daniels.

He also criticised Cole for failing to slate twins John and Edward after they performed their rendition of 'We Will Rock You' on Saturday's programme.

Speaking on his magazine show Live From Studio Five, Wright asked: "You know what, what's happening with Simon? It went to deadlock, isn't he meant to make the decision? If 'Jedward' can get through and she can actually sing? What's it about - building someone. It's an absolute joke."

On Cole, he continued: "Cheryl as well. 'Jedward' [were] rubbish. There's nothing else to be said. She's like, 'I dunno', then it went on to someone else. I wanna do that job, it seems pretty easy. If you're confused, just go to the public. Ridiculous."

Wright also claimed that Dannii Minogue needs to prove her worth as a singer by performing on the show like Cole did last month.

He asked: "When's she going to perform? Let's be having you."
