John & Edward 'are still virgins'

X Factor twins John and Edward are still virgins, a report has claimed today.

The 18-year-old brothers have only ever had one girlfriend between them because they prefer to concentrate on their unique sense of style and dreams of stardom, according to the Daily Star.

A source from the pair's hometown of Lucan, Dublin commented: "Some people round here see them as village idiots. They didn't get much female attention before the show. John had a girlfriend for just three days when he was 15 and that's the only time we've seen either of them with a girl."

Meanwhile, a friend of the singers is quoted as saying: "They're definitely virgins. They're more interested in their hair and becoming famous than girls. Don't get me wrong, they'll love the female attention they've been getting. But they know that can come after they've made the most of their time on The X Factor."

John and Edward have been backed by X Factor viewers in every public vote so far, despite failing to impress the programme's judging panel.

They recently defended their performances by insisting that they are "current" artists.
