Ian Wright baffled by Minogue's award

Ian Wright has said that he is confused by the decision to name Dannii Minogue as the 'Ultimate TV Personality Of 2009'.

X Factor judge Minogue walked home with the prize at Cosmopolitan's Ultimate Women Of The Year Awards in London earlier this week.

Wright has now admitted that he is not convinced the Australian singer was more deserving than her X Factor co-star Cheryl Cole.

Speaking on his magazine show Live From Studio Five, the former footballer commented: "She beat Cheryl to that, didn't she? I can't understand what Dannii's done to actually win it in terms of TV personality.

"Is it because there's so many people watching [The X Factor], they're just, 'Let's have Dannii on'?"

Wright added that Minogue must have been "the only one" of the nominees who was willing to turn up and collect the award.

Earlier this month, the 46-year-old called for Minogue to prove she can sing by performing live on The X Factor.
