Rachel Hylton: 'Dannii didn't support me'
Rachel Hylton has reportedly claimed that Dannii Minogue failed to offer her enough support on The X Factor last year.

The soul singer, who was part of Minogue's Over-25s category, suggested that her chances of success in the competition were hindered because the Australian favoured Ruth Lorenzo.

Speaking to Voice Online about how series five's contestants have fared, Hylton admitted: "I'm very happy for Alexandra [Burke] and JLS, but I'm also a bit gutted for myself. I didn't get the support that they got from their mentors.

"Dannii didn't know what to do with me and spent much of her time mentoring Ruth Lorenzo, who was in the Over-25s category with me. Alexandra and JLS had mentors that supported them throughout the show and I think it showed."

The 28-year-old confirmed that while she has not yet been signed up by a record label, she has produced her own demo recordings in an attempt to secure a contract.

"When I left the show, there was all this talk about me being snapped up, but that didn't happen," Hylton said. "I even heard that I was meant to be working with John Legend, but that wasn't true either.

"I have left the management company I was with after the show and have a new manager who is trying to get me a record deal as we speak."
