Berrabah embarrassed by 'X Factor' talk

Sugababes star Amelle Berrabah has admitted that she feels embarrassed over recent reports linking her to The X Factor.

Earlier this month, the singer was quoted as saying that she wanted to join the show's panel after spending time with Simon Cowell in Barbados.

However, Berrabah has now insisted that she was merely answering a question that was put to her when she discussed the ITV1 programme.

She told Live From Studio Five: "It's embarrassing, I swear to God! Basically, I was asked 'how is Simon?' because I was chatting to him at a party on New Year's Eve in Barbados.

"The person was like, 'Would you be interested in being a judge?' and I said, 'Yeah, you know, it would be good'. But I didn't say, 'I want to be the next judge'."

Berrabah added that she does not want Cowell to think that she has been exaggerating their Barbados meeting to get in the headlines.
