Angry Louis attacks Simon's "vanity"

Louis Walsh has admitted that he will "probably" return to The X Factor tomorrow - but he has far from made up with Simon Cowell.

The Westlife manager quit the show earlier this week after a string of public humiliations but is now expected to see out the rest of the series on the condition that he can miss the next one.

"I'll probably go back at the weekend. I've had an apology from Simon," he said today. "In fact Simon has so far sent me five grovelling text messages begging me to come back to the show. One text message read, 'I'm really sorry Louis, I consider you one of my closest friends. Simon'."

Of Cowell, he added: "I think Simon's very vain. He wears platform shoes, has spray tans, wears make-up and dyes his hair, all in an attempt to look younger. Simon also likes to do press ups before he goes on set."
