Daniels, who came fifth in last year's series, warned current contestants that he felt the demands of the show were too great.
"I'm pleased that I'm not part of it this year," he told The Sun. "I lost a stone and a half just through stress.
"I'd say to this year's contestants, 'You've got it hard guys, seriously.' I think it's too much. I would never do it again, but I don't regret it."
When asked if he was planning to follow this year's series, the 17-year-old said: "I doubt I'll watch it. I don't know if I could watch other people going through it - it's very hard."
However, Daniels praised his former mentor Cheryl Cole for helping him through the show. He added: "She was very good. She wanted to work with us a lot and she was very supportive."
Daniels is currently touring the UK with last year's fourth-placed X Factor finalist Danyl Johnson.
The teenager said: "I love what I'm doing now - playing gigs, touring and seeing places that I've not been to before. Everyone else who'd left before me was doing gigs, and I wanted to do that myself."
