Third time unlucky for the Conway Sisters

The luck of the Irish finally ran out tonight as the Conway Sisters were ousted from The X Factor.

The quartet found themselves in the bottom two for a third week running along with Chico Slimani.

Louis would have once again had the casting vote but in a shock twist, Simon voted to send his own act home.

"I don't believe in patronising people," he told the girls. "You've been a pleasure and you'll grow from this point on."

The Conways, meanwhile, paid tribute to Louis for his support of them, saying: "You have been our mentor through this and we thank you a lot."

From next week the public vote will exclusively determine which act goes home.
