The 22-year-old from Birmingham initially failed to impress Cowell with her rendition of 'The Power Of Love', which was shown on The Xtra Factor.
Despite winning praise from Louis Walsh, Cowell declared that there was no chance that she would "ever be a recording artist".
After being offered the chance to perform a second track, Reeve stunned the Syco boss with her take on The Zutons hit 'Valerie'. An impressed Cowell commented: "I say things sometimes to get a reaction from people. This was a different person." She was given four yes votes by the panel and sent through to Boot Camp.
Speaking to Konnie Huq about her aspirations, Reeve said: "I'd love to be as big as Leona Lewis, Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears. I want everyone to recognise me for my voice and what I'm doing. To hear myself on the radio would be amazing.
"My musical role models are Aretha Franklin, Dusty Springfield. Quite old soul singers."
The Xtra Factor airs on Saturday at 9pm on ITV2.
