The 16-year-old performed Soulja Boy's 'Turn My Swag On' on Saturday's episode, winning praise from Cheryl Cole.
Talking about her choice of track, Lloyd told The Sun: "I didn't want to sing Mariah or Whitney - I wanted to shock people.
"I was worried they would not get me. Before the audition I thought it could go two ways. I could fall completely or it could take me away."
Judge Cole applauded Lloyd for having "a bit of attitude" in her performance. She also told the teenager: "You are my favourite audition so far."
Lloyd said of Cole's support: "I think she understands what I'm about."
