Burnett said that she was shocked by the public's decision to axe the Over 28 act, claiming that it must have been down to personality rather than vocal talent.
Speaking on the Xtra Factor, she said: "I was upset for Storm. I think he has a got a great voice. I have been working with him and he has a voice - a great voice.
"I don't think people have taken to him. He was misunderstood maybe. But his voice was good."
During a debate about the finalists with audience members invited on to the show, she added: "How can you say Diva Fever are better than Storm? They are great lovely guys, but Storm has got the voice. Diva Fever are lovely performers, but no vocals."
The X Factor continues next Saturday at 7.30pm on ITV1.
