Speaking about the Blackpool singer on The Xtra Factor, Minogue defended Grimshaw from accusations that his performances were too intense and used pop music legend Presley as a reference point.
"If he was playing concerts, he would flow his songs in different ways," she said. "I think with the intensity there is something of Elvis. He had that kind of intensity. He has the whole singing and dancing thing happening like Elvis Presley."
Cheryl Cole backed up her rival judge, claiming that Grimshaw had "star quality".
Meanwhile, Louis Walsh added: "Aiden is different. He is a real, real artist. He's like Rufus Wainwright. One of those serious artists."
Grimshaw performed 'Diamonds Are Forever' on this week's Guilty Pleasures-themed show.
