Rio Ferdinand in 'X Factor' Wagner rant

England football captain Rio Ferdinand has ranted on Twitter about Wagner Carrilho's progression on The X Factor.

The Manchester United defender claimed that the Brazilian singer's success is the reason he can't take the ITV1 series seriously.

Tweeting during last night's results show, the sports star wrote: "The public needs to get one mahoosive slap for this voting... Wagner... I mean...wtf...nah it's not right... I can't...for crying out loud (sic).

"Wagner going through sums up why I can't take X Factor seriously... I just kissed my teeth like my dad used to when he was vexed!

"Is this a personality contest or I'm a genuine person comp? No, it's a can you be a popstar comp so send Wagner home!"

During Saturday's show, Ferdinand said that he is a fan of Matt Cardle and Rebecca Ferguson, describing them as the "real singers" on the show.

He also tipped One Direction for success, joking: "These boys are gonna make it regardless of where they finish on the show. The lil chics are flipping out already! Its a wrap!"
