The Brazilian wildcard entry, who is being mentored by Louis Walsh, is also being backed by a Facebook campaign with over 30,000 members.
Fans of last year's successful Rage Against The Machine Christmas No.1 campaign have claimed that a victory for Carrilho would be another "spanner in the works" for Simon Cowell.
Carrilho has clashed with contestants such as Aiden Grimshaw and Matt Cardle, who have branded him a joke act, while Cowell said on last weekend's show it would be "the end of the world" if he actually won the talent contest. The 54-year-old also clashed with Cheryl Cole over comments he made to a newspaper about her "council estate" roots.
In a DS forums poll, Carrilho is currently the third favourite act and only Rebecca Ferguson and Matt Cardle are currently picking up more votes. The catchphrase "spread the loaf" is also being posted on the forums by his supporters.
Bookmakers Paddy Power currently have the Dudley-based singer at 10/1 fourth favourite to win the competition. Matt Cardle (7/4), One Direction (2/1) and Rebecca Ferguson (7/2) are the only acts with shorter odds.
